Giving Yourself Permission to Daydream

To the woman who’s always on the go, carrying the weight of everything—and to the one who only has a minute while reading this on the toilet (because, let’s be real, that could be only break you’re getting):

I’m giving you permission to daydream this holiday season.

Your days are a blur of responsibilities—work, kids, errands, relationships, caretaking. But what about you?

(I’m also that person. The one sneaking a second to breathe between it all, scrolling, seeking a break in my everyday reality.)

Maybe your escape looks like a realistic, bite-sized moment of peace:

  • A solo coffee run where no one’s asking for a sip.

  • A long shower where you’re not rushing to get out.

  • 20 minutes curled up with a book, a podcast, or total silence before the chaos starts again.

  • A drive with your favorite music, windows down, no destination—just you and a playlist that takes you back.

Or maybe it’s the daydream kind—the ones that feel just a little out of reach but so, so worth it:

  • A weekend getaway where no one knows your name.

  • A night in a cozy, quiet hotel room alone with room service and zero guilt.

  • Dancing like no one’s watching—whether it’s in your living room, at a concert, or barefoot on a beach.

  • Finally booking that boudoir session to see yourself through a different light.

Here’s the thing: daydreams don’t always have to be big to matter. They can be those fleeting moments where you give yourself permission to pause. To breathe. To imagine.

But I say, let’s daydream just a little bit bigger.

Imagine this: stepping into a space where reality fades away. The lights are soft, the music hums perfectly, and for the first time in forever, you’re not thinking about what’s next on the list. Instead, you’re playing pretend—like you did when you were a kid, but this time with an edge, a spark, and a twist.

A portrait session with La Photographie is your escape. It’s a chance to transform for the day—or maybe rediscover parts of yourself that got buried under the busy. Slip into the role of a confident goddess, a mysterious siren, or the version of you that you’ve always dreamed of meeting.

There’s no one way to do a boudoir session—and that’s the magic. Some clients walk in with a clear vision, a daydream they’ve held onto for months or even years. Others arrive ready to be surprised, open to letting the moment decide who they’ll become. Both are beautiful. Both are powerful.

And here’s the secret: when you step into a fantasy, you don’t leave it behind. That bold confidence you feel in the studio? It lingers. That feeling of being untouchable, sexy, or free? It comes home with you.

Let yourself daydream. Let yourself escape, even for just a moment.

So, what’s your escape? Maybe it’s dripping in glamor, glowing under projection lights, or lounging in an enchanted forest. Maybe it’s something completely your own—a dream only you can bring to life.

Whatever your fantasy may be, a session with La Photographie isn’t just about the photos. It’s about giving yourself permission to breathe, to escape, to play dress-up—and to be.

Because pretending doesn’t mean you’re hiding. Sometimes, it’s the first step to rediscovering who you truly are. So whether it’s sneaking an extra minute in the car, fantasizing about a new adventure, or taking the leap to step into something you’ve always dreamed of… this is your reminder. If all you’ve got is this moment, hiding out in the bathroom, scrolling and daydreaming? That’s okay, too.

Your escape is waiting. And trust me, you deserve it.
