Lola Van Ella as a Ziegfeld Follies Dancer

I have been a longtime admirer of Alfred Cheney Johnston, the NYC photographer who captured the Ziegfeld Follies girls in the 1920s. His work is transcendental and provides a private look inside the decadence of the 20th century's most beguiling decade. 

When burlesque superstar Lola Van Ella visited Denver earlier this year, we decided to do an homage to the work of Alfred Cheney Johnston with our photo shoot. I call this style "Midnight Frolic."
